Today is World Poetry Day, a day created by UNESCO to celebrate poetry. Poetry is, to me, the most beautiful form of art — the one that captures the invisible and the possibility of the impossible. As a poet, I couldn’t let this day pass unnoticed, and so I’m sharing today a poem filled with light and hope — the hope that poetry brings to humanity.
A Light Still Dreaming
Hope—
the breath of life,
the light that shines
on the first steps of the journey
where dreams are
endless roads.

most people are too busy going their own way.
poetry gives hope to the hopeless
and sight to the sightless.
next to religion
poetry is the next best dream to believe in.
I didn't know that today is World Poetry Day; my calendars gave no indication. Thank you for honouring this day with your beautiful pair – the photo, with endless "roads" in the sky, and your poem, "A light still dreaming", in which hope shines upon "the journey/where dreams are/endless roads.
