The Invisible Thread
Repost: A philosophical poem, where I reflect on the meaning of my writing and of humanity.
Author's note: I've been re-reading all my posts on this platform. Sometimes I'm surprised by the things I discover about myself when I re-read them. For example, in this poem that I'm reposting now with a few edits, I found a lot of my essence and it came to me that, when I was a child, I spent a lot of time reading philosophy and cosmology, because in a way I was looking for the essence of things. Perhaps this poem is the result of all that reading. Writing for me is an act of searching for the Lumen of life.
The Invisible Thread
When I write, my wish
is to find the invisible thread
that unites all people,
something more
that a shiny fear to run away from,
a thread of perfume,
childhood, peace- and happiness,
A spark resembling a smile,
a touch like that of lovers,
a word of comfort,
the beating of hearts in harmony,
or something divine that unites us all,
That's what I'm looking for-
a scent of wholeness,
something we know exists,
but remains unknown to us,
a unifying emotion,
a kind of Love,
like the glow of a sunny day,
My wish,
is that these words touch that line,
make it vibrate like a melody,
and that you,
when you read this poem- wake up,
and realize that even if we don't know each other,
you and me,
we are united forever,
and we are parts of a whole
that manifests itself in infinite ways,
and whenever we close our eyes
and glimpse the mirror of our mind,
the Universe whispers in silence
and we touch, without knowing it,
that invisible line- Lumen,
the primordial breath,
the thread of time,
the essential matter.

I'm very glad that you've reposted "The Invisible Thread". I liked this poem when I first read it and I still like it - it still speaks to me - which means that it's very good indeed. And what makes it good is this central idea that humans are searching for an invisible thread that connects or unites all people.
In all the chaos and disunity that is going on right now, it is perhaps an overly hopeful poem to repost - but then, hope is one of the great things that keeps humanity going. Thank you, Rolando.
Your words feel like they’re tracing that very thread as they’re read, delicate yet unbreakable. This poem carries the quiet certainty that our separateness is only an illusion. Thank you for giving form to something so subtle yet universal.
