Dear Rolando, these words stayed with me for more than a moment. This poem did not open it's door to me immediately, as it feels a bit like a riddle (I like riddles). BTW, when I click on the photo it says "Man in black shirt standing in front of woman in black shirt", but the photo only shows two versions of the man! And, both are seen from the back! --

I conclude that the man in the poem is in fact contemplating himself. He has noticed that, although whole, he and another aspect of himself have become apart, "you and I– one and the same like body and soul." My own thought is that controlling one's image in a mirror is easy, if one knows how to control oneself. The reflection in the mirror only mirrors. The mastering is always about mastering oneself. With love, Maria

Music and poetry are natural partners. With such powerful lyrics, they become the perfect companions for a journey through emotions

How often do we confuse seeing ourselves with supervising ourselves? Your mirror becomes a place of tension between the wisdom a life has earned and the image the mind still wants to control. Perhaps wholeness begins when the reflected man is finally allowed to be seen rather than managed.
