The idea of people talking to themselves in silence, not far from the abyss, and then someone arriving 'with words of spring in their hand', is quite an appropriate and well-expressed thought on World Suicide Prevention Day, and could save a life if acted upon. So words can be very powerful.
Hello, Martin. Thank you for your comment. You're right, words save lives, and I have experience of that as a psychotherapist. What I say to my patients, often just one sentence, can transform lives. Words are the ties that bind people together, as if words were an invisible web that binds and unifies us all
I believe you’ve captured these feelings as well as anyone can imagine, Rolando. The word that stands out is ‘alone.’ Anyone with survivor’s guilt wishes they would have known more, could have been there, could have arrived with words of spring.
Hi. I think you're right, survivors often end up living years of their lives with these questions in their minds: what could I have said or done? Did they give me signs that I didn't appreciate?
How else is it possible that human emotions and all languages are translatable? Beautiful fierce fundamental strivings for connection as seemingly fragile webbing in the face of spring awakenings. Thank you for sharing.
The idea of something "slowly, heavily," turning into words and that clarity resulting in fear is stunning. Sometimes I'll be yelling to the skies for an idea, something to write about and when it finally becomes clear, I freeze. This captured that perfectly.
I really like how the poem builds from quiet introspection to a deeper emotional struggle. The imagery of tears as messengers from the past was particularly striking, and the balance between fear and hope feels relatable. Thanks for sharing!

So real, so painful, yet soothing to the one who understands. Thank you for acknowledging this day, Rolando.❣️
